Stop! It is more than urgent to stop the use of the term "migrants" without (strong) conscience
It is high time to dust off this term, which is attributed without any real perception of its (strong) discrimination by one (media, politician, social actor, sociologist, anthropologist) towards the others, who are given another name, another "identity" decided upon, imposed by others: "migrants".
What underlies this form of colonisation? Undoubtedly a power game that has become inappropriate and, at the very least, needs to be radically questioned.
What is this territory "the migrants" that a political colonisation with a design associated with "the borders" draws?
Who would still dare to close their eyes to this abuse of language with its dark accents, which encloses our migrations as our movements and openings, the meaning of our lives?
Who, in the evening of history, will look with accuracy at this era, this time, when some have branded others as "migrants"?
No. It is not possible to continue, in the name of some proud so-called legitimacy, to sectarianise, to divide our humanities, our lives.
Yes, our migrations belong to each and every one of us: they are a source of our lives. Being-alive because being-migrant.
We are all descendants of the first migrants.
Decolonising "our migrants" is obviously a provocative title that refers to "our slaves", for example.
It is therefore a question of disassociating ourselves from a (useful?) solidarity that locks up and objectifies human beings in the name of being "migrants".
Yes, our transitions are the work of our migrations; without another look at our migrations (temporal, physical, spatial, visible, invisible, intellectual, spiritual...), nothing will be able to unfold fully.
The point here is not to encourage an epistemological reversal (which would again be decided by a few from the pulpit) but to honour our migrations as living beings. Our migrations are at the crossroads of our realities and the inscription of a Real that is Life in its path and, in a way, in its truths.
Let us reinvent our migrations, let us free them from the chains in which some (good-thinking and therefore good-migrating) have chained them.
Our conditions as living beings will then fully inhabit their migrations.
